Transitioning from Summer to Fall:
Part 1 of 3
This summer’s almost over– the leaves are beginning to turn here in the Midwest, days are getting cooler (though it’s still 75degrees), and kids are going back to school. It may sound like bad news to some, but I prefer to look on the bright side and think of the good to come: hot cocoa, apple cider, sweaters, and bonfires!
For now it’s all about figuring out how to mix and match summer and fall clothes to make transitional outfits. This dress has been my go-to all summer and I don’t plan to put it in storage any time soon. If you already have a dress like this you’ll be fauxfall ready by adding a muted scarf, purse, and booties!
For makeup, add a nude lip, winged liner, and a subtle smoky eye for a sneakily glam look. I looked at this Lauren Curtis video tutorial for inspiration. I just discovered her videos and think they’re fun to watch. As a mom I can’t spend tons of time doing makeup so I edited it down to a little foundation, highlighter, bronzer to contour, eyeliner, and mascara. It sounds like it would take a long time, but I can do my routine now in 2 minutes unless I mess up my eyeliner… Then it could take up to 10 🙄.
Dress: Old Navy (under $20) | Scarf: Burberry… I like this dupe too and I adore this one too! | Booties: Jessica Simpson (similar here for under $20!!!!!) and I like these moccasins if you like the fringe but don’t want a heel. | Purse: Coach and there’s a smaller one that’s less expensive too
