For years I was a tomboy growing up so I kinda am in love with these easy to wear trousers. Paired with similarly colored classic prints they reminisce of an iconic time in history– the 1940s.
Above a college girl in the 1940s shows off her love of plaid and “mannish” trousers. We’ll call her Ida.
Below I’ll link to my pants and some accessories in case you want to recreate all or parts of this look. I’ll also link to some plaid shoes and a plaid coat like those belonging to the lovely lady above.
Trousers: RomweI adore these because they are totally timeless.
Top: Target (x Victoria Beckham)similar style here from Nordys.
Heels: Sam Edelman the one’s I’m linking are a different color, but the same brand. They look to be the same fit as my Most Wearable Heels (the ones in the picture)
Coat: Via Spiga (super similar from same brand!)
Bag: Louis Vuitton— if I were to buy another of these bags vintage I think i would get this one, which is authenticated by DSW and has a serial number to go with it. Getting it there would have saved me tens of hours of time so I didn’t have to do the research to see if it’s authentic myself.
Jacket: Misguided, the company went bankrupt, but their plaid blazer still looks good!
Top: I found two that I thought were worthy of a share. This is the first that you can snag at Nordstrom Rack. It has cute bows on the front. The second option is Brooks Brothers and it sports a dainty bow at the collar.
Trousers: Romwe, these pretties are velvet too! I also like this green pair because they seem practical.
Socks: from Barney’s… having a shorter too and a bow is a little more modern.
Belt: Express— this belt makes a statement but doesn’t seem too trendy. Plus it’s a great price!
Shoes: f21 for around $20 or J.Crew for about $100, but maybe totally worth it. ♥️
