Happy NYE everyone! Today I want to share some pictures from Christmas Day because it was one of my favorite Christmases ever.

From sitting by the fire playing games to sliding around on the lake, it was all so fun. At first, we didn’t know if the lake was thick enough to skate on yet, but my brothers discovered that the ice was 3 inches thick right behind the house so they took Beckett, and my little sister outback to play ice hockey. I stayed inside at first because I didn’t want to get cold, but after watching them for awhile I couldn’t help myself! I borrowed some warm (and cute) accessories and grabbed Dakota (our pup). I had to be careful– being pregnant and all– so I mainly stayed ashore and played fetch with Dakota out onto the ice. But it turns out 101 Dalmatians does a good job of illustrating how dogs look on ice… so we finished our game of fetch in the yard.

Another highlight of Christmas was going for a walk in the woods with my mom, Sarah, and Dakota. We got to see trees eaten by a beaver and lots of deer prints. It was such a beautiful day! It may not have been the whitest Christmas, but it was definitely one for the books!  With 2016 creeping up on me today, I can’t help but reflect on how blessed 0ur little family is to have such great families behind us. Who has blessed you this year?
