black x tan

Blouse: J Crew | Skirt: Leif, sold out (similar here and here) | Sandals: Rebecca Minkoff | Tote: Kate Spade outlet, similar here in a gorgeous Blush and here in black

Up until yesterday it’s been exceptionally hot here in MN and this outfit beats the heat. The black silk is great because it doesn’t show sweat and the skirt is flowy and doesn’t stick like some skirts do.

In other news, I finally finished painting our dining room! I shared w picture earlier on Instagram, but here it is again. I love this green we painted the walls after moving in, but it was never supposed to stay plain green. Last week I finally decided what else to do over the green (I was debating between darker green and a bronze/gold color) and I settled on the bronze– partly because I already had it and partly because I have always loved gold colored things. I like how it turned out, but realize it’s not everyone’s style. I’m dreading repainting though if we decide to sell the house sometime in the future. But maybe I’ll just leave it? Idk, what do you think?

Love,

Kellie

Like I mentioned in the ‘men’s edition’ post, the Nordstrom sale is my favorite time to snag those items that have been in the back of my mind all year.

  • Don’t you just love that pool float? I like its pearlescent finish and that it’s oversized.
  • The dresses I linked are to die for and will work for the Fall and or Winter long!
  • The watches, rings, and necklace all speak for themselves, I would say!
  • And those fendi Sunnies are gorg!
  • The two purses also come in black and are amazing deals starting July 22 (unless you have the Nordstrom card, in which case you can shop it all now).

Ona other note, I might do a life update soon because a lot has happened this July and I’ve been getting questions about how my dad’s doing from those who know my family. I don’t want to overshare, but I want to give glory where it’s due and let you all know what happened.

We’ll see how I feel about it once I type it up.

It’s finally hump day, girls, and for me that means I have Wolfie’s wellness check and a bachelorette party coming up. I’m excited to see how much our baby has grown these past 2.5 months and to catch up with old friends and meet new ones!

I wore this outfit to Wolfgang’s baby shower thrown by my husband’s side of the family. We had a tea party at The Mad Hatter in Anoka that I posted about last year. The party had an Alice in Wonderland theme and it was very cute. My sisters- and mother-in-law made it really fun and special for Wolfgang and me. I don’t recommend the place as much as I did in my older post though because this time we were eating and chatting in the dining room and the manager came in and told us we were too loud (…?) because some other people were supposed to have a table in that room, but asked to be moved because of us. We knew who the manager was talking about too. A group of older women came in and loudly asked our table what we were celebrating. Then they looked around with their noses in the air and left. I noticed them do that, but ignored it at the time. We weren’t doing anything worthy of a complaint to management. If the woman who “talked to us” had taken a moment to assess the situation (instead of getting the complaint and marching in like she was on a mission) she wouldn’t have spoiled our tea party.

I come from a loud family of 9 so we’ve been told to quiet down before, but at least some of those times were justified. Have any of you had a situation like this?

…nordstrom anniversary sale (men’s edition)…

Sperry Gold Cup LLT sneaker

Timberland Earthkeepers ‘Groveton’ sneakers

John Varvatos ‘Schooner’ boat shoe

Trim fit buffalo check sport shirt

Bonobos Slim Fit Dot Print Sport Shirt

‘stay RVCA’ slim fit pants

It’s that time of year again. The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale starts July 22. And in case you haven’t heard it’s a really good sale! Most years I’ve waited to buy things we need until this sale rolled around. It’s a good way to get quality clothing at a good price.

My hubby, Beckett, has a lot of nice clothes already (even shirts that still fit him from high school), but every once in awhile we find a few new things he can use. For example, the John Varvatos boat shoes (above). While we were at the lake over the Fourth of July he finally had to say goodbye to his beloved slip on shoes because they got wet, had a growing hole in the toe, and looked like something ‘Shaggy’ from Scooby-Doo would wear. (Sorry, honey.)

The other two shoes are pairs that I thought would look amazing on Beckett. Same with the pants and buffalo check shirt. And that dot print shirt… Well I just really like it!

Anyway, I’ll try to do a update on life soon. It’s been crazy between my dad haiving a bad waterski accident and Wolfie growing up so much every day! I feel like I can’t keep up!

Have a great day, loves!

cute baby stuff…

Wolfgang is 2 months old today so I put together this little video to show him off!

And here are some photos…

Time certainly does fly when you’re having fun and having Wolfie has been the most fulfilling and exciting experience of my life. He’s exploring and learning new things every day. This last weekend we could have sworn he was trying to snap his fingers.

I love his little babbling as he says things like, “ahhhh” and “oooooh” or my favorite “ahhhgooo!” I love it when he try’s to mimic noises I make. Or when he worms his way around because those little legs never stop kicking! Even from the day he was born he could hold up his head, which scared me because he didn’t know how to set it down gently. He’s figuring out how to be careful with his head, but it still makes mama nervous. We can tell he is very smart and that’s a big mellon!;)

On another note, did you see the crib and changing pad sheets?! They are adorable and absolutely perfect for his nursery!

I teamed up with KB Cute Designs because I love basically everything they make and I HAD to share because I know you will like them too! The sheets are cotton, breathable, stylish, and fit the “boyish charm” look we wanted for his nursery. But there are other cute patterns to choose from for whatever type of a nursery design you like. My favorite sheet set for a girl is the Navy Blue Floral fitted crib sheet. ❤

Another reason I would recommend these sheets is that they fit perfect and are made well. They tuck under and “hug” the mattress so they don’t slip off.
