…effortless style with trunk up…

If you’re like me you often wish you lived in the 1940s or ’50s so that you could wear the iconic fashion statements of those decades. Fortunate for us vintage lovers, sometimes fashion takes a turn for the classics with a modern twist, and I think Trunk Up Boutique does just that with this Olive Turtleneck Cape.

Cape: Trunk Up | Shirt (not pictured):  | Pants: Vero Moda other here from Nordstrom Rack | Booties: JustFab (similar here) | Earrings: Nordstrom (old, similarly colored under $6 at JCPennyQuartz & Spike Double Sided Earrings by Cole Haan, and another pair by Betsy Johnson that would also be perfect with every one of your fall outfits)!

…not your average fast fashion…

It’s great that the style choices are classy, trendy, and a good price (mostly between $20-40). And even better is that Trunk Up prides itself in selling quality clothing so the fabrics and construction are super nice. I don’t know about you, but when I buy something (no matter the price) I don’t want to have to throw it out the next year because it was poorly made.

They also donate 10% of each order to a charity!

…(side story)…

When I was younger we had a dress up box in our crawl space full of cool old dresses and coats. One of those items was a pink patterned poncho with fringes and pompoms and I always secretly wished I could wear it out of the house, but I was enough of a freak already so I decided to not add insult to injury.

Then last year when I was pregnant with Wolfgang and couldn’t zip my winter coat anymore, my mother-in-law gave me this cape for Christmas. I loved it (and still do)!

… OK, back to the main attraction…

Needless to say, when I saw this cape at Trunk Up, I knew it was a winner! Isn’t it absolutely perfect for fall? I love that it is classic with a modern twist and I can’t find it anywhere else!looking-down-picture-for-blog-post-blogger-of-trunk-up-boutique-collab-olive-cape-poncho-coffee-and-vero-moda-leggings-with-black-justfab-just-fab-bootiesside-view-and-closeup-of-trunk-up-boutique-olive-cape-poncho-and-coffee-cupI feel as stylish as Audrey Hepburn in this. 😛

Those leather details and buttons get me every time. I also appreciate that I can wear a simple outfit of pants and a tee-shirt, add the cape, and the outfit is complete, feminine, and refined. No crazy accessories needed!side-view-of-trunk-up-boutique-collab-olive-cape-poncho-coffee-and-vero-moda-leggings-with-black-justfab-just-fab-booties

Even while unwrapping the olive cape on mail day, I knew it was a quality piece.

Sorry F21, I still love you anyway, but you break easily!

haha

I like being able to donate clothes I don’t want anymore, not throw them away!

While shopping through Trunk Up I found countless items that I wanted! I’ll definitely be back for more because I’m obsessed with almost everything. For fall, I still want their mustard bell-sleeve dress, this floral lace top (so cute!!!!!), and this burgundy top! Oh, and let’s not forget these patterned “tall girl” pants! ❤

BTW, Don’t forget to check out their dresses for upcoming events (is homecoming already over??) because they have a good selection of casual dresses like the mustard bell-sleeve dress I linked above, but they also have tons of classic chic dresses like their “Head Turning Dress” for the daring, sexy or the elegant white open-back dress for the girl with a good back, or the Lemonade Dress for Becky with the good hair… (and everyone else too).

I hope you enjoyed this post and the Trunk Up boutique! I had a hard time remembering the name Trunk Up at first (I  got confused by Thread Up), but then I thought of an elephant and then I wasn’t confused anymore!

Xo,

Kellie
