The #TOOTD (Thanksgiving Outfit of the Day)
Happy Thanksgiving week, ladies! Here’s a prep-tastic outfit idea for thanksgiving this year. I think of this outfit as one you wear if you aren’t hosting the meal. The skirt is comfortable and easy to wear while the oversized sweater hides the food baby.
The over the knee (OTK) boots are a great way to cover some skin from the cold wintery weather, though I’m going to add some wooly, light gray tights to this outfit now that there’s snow on the ground!
Food for Thought
Every year around this time I tend to skip over Thanksgiving and being thankful and go right into the “gimme” mode that the Christmas season often promotes. This year I want it to be different. I don’t want my mind on tons of things I want from the stores. I want to be thankful for what God has given me/us here at the Witzke household.
So tonight, lets make a list together of all the things we can be thankful for.
Go to a quiet place, maybe an office, your bedroom, or the living room when everyone else has gone to bed. Turn on the fireplace or light a candle to relax you. Think of all the blessings in your life, even if you’ve had a lot of bad things happen this year.
Write down your blessings.
Here are my top ten blessings blessings:
1- my supportive, hard working husband.
2- our healthy, happy little boy.
3- a warm house with enough space for all of our things.
4- you readers & an increase in collaborations for my blog.
5- my Style Collective sisters who have helped me learn and grow as a person and as a blogger.
6- our cat, Elsa Girl, and pup, Dakota Girl. I’m especially thankful this year because of how sweet and nice they’ve been to our little Wolfgang.
7- for Beckett’s and my families and the fun times we’ve shared with them this year.
8- that my dad is still here and even able to walk and move after his waterskiing accident this summer.
9- the snow outside.
10- God’s grace being new each day.
Negative Thoughts and Where to Shove ‘Em:
Just kidding, but seriously, forget about the negative aspects of this year. Remember how I said the other day that I’m naturally pretty pessimistic? For (almost) everything on that list, I could find something negative to tear down the happiness those things bring me, but I wont because then I’m not truly thankful for them.
What are you thankful for? Write them down now and take a minute to thank God for giving them to you!
Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.
