How soon is too soon?

Team Thanksgiving or Team Christmas?

I’m sure you’ve noticed that you can find an article to confirm anything you want on the internet: aliens are real, chocolate is good for you, coffee is bad for you or really good for you… it’s all there. And now research shows people who decorate for Christmas early (before thanksgiving) are happier. Yes, folks, it’s all there, written by an expert! What do you think of all of this? Tell us below!

Wellesley and I got a few things out today, but nothing spectacular. I’m not sure how in-depth our decor will be this year. Last year we put out every decoration we had right after Halloween and I was sick of all of the clutter before Christmas Eve! I almost felt guilty being so excited to put it all away because I knew the kids & Beckett were loving it all still.

The Christmas Painting:

The Christmas print is one I painted of a car and a Christmas tree a few years ago. I love it because it has silver accents and it’s perfect classic addition to your Christmas decor!

You can shop this super affordable work of art with this link or by clicking on the shopping bag at the top of this website and scrolling down to it.

The Plaid Boyfriend Shirt:

My patch tartan boyfriend shirt (search #: 603411) is from Shein, you guessed it, Shein! I’m wearing a size medium. It’s sleeves are a little on the short side for me so I tend to roll them up, but I’m pretty tall (5’10”) so I think they should fit most people in length.

If you are looking for any holiday clothes or just an update to your closet, Shein has great options at AMAZING price points. Example, this top was $15! Plus my 15% off code: Q4TheClassy15 makes shopping even better! Valid through Dec 31st 2019!

So how soon is too soon to decorate for Christmas? I think we are all big girls and can make that decision for ourselves, but I have to say, a little reminder that Jesus came & holiday cheer never hurt anyone!

Wolfie:

Also, a special thank you to those of you who have been praying for Wolfie. I’ve heard from a few of you and we appreciate your continued prayers as we continue to monitor and make sure he’s ok! We are a lot more confident right now that he is fine, but it’s still one of those things in the back of our minds. Your prayers mean the world to us.

Speaking of Wolfie: spider-man (aka Beckett) came for a visit and Wolfie was so excited! The boys have been watching the 60s original spider-man cartoons lately and wolfie is obsessed!

Beckett had this spider-man suit custom made back when he was in college & we were dating. Not entirely sure why, but I think it has something to do with him buying an auction of over 10,000 comic books on eBay because it was “a good deal.” 😅😅😅😅 He would wear the suit while trying to sell the comics by the curb once school got out! 😆 #welaughnow Somehow he actually sold most of them, but we still have a half a dozen boxes that follow us like a puppy wherever we go. 🤪

If you or someone you know likes comics, please email TheClassyArtist@gmail.com and I’ll give you a deal! Just don’t tell Beckett 🤣

Honey, if you’re reading this, I’m kidding about selling your comics. Or am I?

the little things

Fun, fulfilling weeks are the best, aren’t they? As this week comes to a close, I was thinking back at all of the fun we’ve had and I feel so blessed in so many ways.

I got to paint another embryo for a family going through IVF, I’ll show you later. We also had a lot of fun family time that was renewing for the soul. From our snuggly movie nights watching Incredibles more times than I want to admit, to when 2 of my brothers came over for pizza with their girlfriends. But one of my favorite moments was when we had an impromptu photoshoot with the kids today. No tripod so we didn’t get a whole family photo, but these pictures are ones that we will cherish forever.

I’ll share more later too, but it’s late and we are going to bed.

Literally how they look at me every day.

Night!

Happy Christmas

We hope and pray that you and your family have the merriest Christmas as we celebrate the birth of the Savior!

This photo comes to you compliments of our tripod– lol! Beckett is a genius and figured out that if we put Wolfgang’s favorite stuffed animal above the camera, he will look at it! So now you know our secret to getting a toddler to look at the camera! 😉

Luke 2

In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. (This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria.) And everyone went to their own town to register.

So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.

And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”

13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,

14 “Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”

15 When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”

16 So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. 17 When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, 18 and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. 19 But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. 20 The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.

21 On the eighth day, when it was time to circumcise the child, he was named Jesus, the name the angel had given him before he was conceived.

all that glitters…

Howdy friends! I’m coming at you today with a spoonful of fashion and a little Christmas talk!

Santa Tradition Idea:

I often don’t spend a lot of time talking about much other than clothes or art on this blog, but I wanted to share about a Christmas tradition I thought was a cool idea! Don’t worry, I’ll talk about this top down below!!!

When I was a kid, we didn’t do Santa. I understand that a lot of it is personal conviction, but when my husband and I got married and began talking about kids, family traditions, and what we wanted to implement as parents, we decided we wanted to participate in the fun Santa Clause tradition. However, every once in awhile we hear from friends or family that it’s not a good idea if we want our kids to also believe in God. The reasoning: if the child finds out we were “lying” about Santa, they will doubt all of the things we tell them.

I agree with their logic to a certain extent, and I certainly don’t want my children to lose sight of the real meaning of Christmas (Jesus), but I also wanted to be able to participate in a fun Christmas tradition.

Enter a great idea I found on Pinterest!

Give your kids gifts from Santa & let them go through the joy and magic of the season. Do advent calendars and read the Christmas message. Teach them about why Jesus came to earth and what that means for us.

Then, once your child is old enough, take him/her out to get hot cocoa and have “the Santa talk.” Explain the history of Santa a bit and how he gave gifts to poor people because he wanted to show them God’s love. Then explain that though St. Nick is gone, we still keep the idea & “magic” of Santa alive by secretly giving to those around us.

Here comes the fun part!!! Now that this child is big enough to know about Santa, he/she gets to BE Santa! Let him/her pick one person in his/her life who needs something. Maybe a grandparent, neighbor, or kid in school. Then go on a top secret mission to the store, buy it, wrap it, and deliver it when it gets dark! And they can only talk about their 007 adventure with you!

Now you have taught your kid about the importance of giving, had a wonderful adventure, and didn’t lose their trust!

Now, let’s move on and talk about this GORGEOUS top!!!!! I came across this white and gold polka dot blouse on Shein a few weeks ago and fell hard  because I love me some polka dots! I also adore anything with a gold accent (as you can tell from my artistic endeavors)!
