Free Thanksgiving Printables to Download!!!!

Guess what?! I’m thankful for you, so as a way to show my appreciation I wanted to give you something to help make your Thanksgiving even more special!

You can also find these free in my shop here, but Beckett and I realized even though they are free in the shop, you would still have to input your billing info so we decided to make it easier for you!

These cards can be printed and used by you and your family to help remember all the things you’re thankful for this year!

To Download: Just click the link below the picture of the card you like & print!!!! For best results, I recommend using card stock and full ink cartridges or sending them to somewhere like FedEx! Have them print 4 to a page if you want them a little smaller so they fit nicely on top of your plate/napkin!

I’ll update this soon to show you how I will use them!

Sharing in the Journey

I’ve been learning so much lately about other women’s journeys to motherhood, but I don’t always share my own because sometimes I feel guilty about my relatively easy road to being called, “Mom-moo.” But I know that each woman’s story is beautiful because it is unique and her own.
For me, becoming a mom began about 3 years ago in the standard way… and for a second I was excited about it, but that excitement was suddenly followed by periods of crying and not feeling ready for the pressures and responsibilities of being a mom.  It was very difficult for me, actually, because I knew in my heart that I was excited, but my head went through lists of reasons why I wasn’t ready because I wasn’t perfect and the timing wasn’t perfect either. I had to let all of that go and count my blessings because, let’s be honest, finding that perfect timing is almost as elusive as a unicorn. 😉
I want to be clear though, it wasn’t that I didn’t love my son or that I didn’t want to be a mom, I just didn’t feel ready and honestly it’s ok to not feel ready.
With this current pregnancy we decided to start trying to get pregnant the summer our son turned one because we wanted our kids to be about 2 years apart. Then in December we got pregnant again and were so so excited because we knew the joy of being a parent and we knew how blessed we were to be able to have not just one but two kids.
We’re now nearing the 35 week mark with our second baby and are counting the days until we can meet our sweet baby girl, W.
But now I want to hear from each of you: Are you currently expecting? How many kids do you have? Did you feel like you got pregnant at the perfect time? Were you excited to find out you were pregnant or did you have different emotions at first like I did? Were there complications with your pregnancy (or pregnancies)? Did you adopt? Did you do IVF? Did you experience any loss? Are you a mamma to babies in heaven?
Please let me and others reading this know if you have any prayer requests related to your motherhood journey. I would absolutely love to pray for you and I have the feeling others reading this will feel the same.
Xo,
Kellie
P.S. Don’t forget to tell me your Instagram username if you’re doing an extra entry into the giveaway!

Real Recipes for the Real Girl (with free printable plan and shopping list)

Real recipes for the real girl on a budgetHappy Monday and welcome to my new blogging schedule! All my life I’ve loved to help people so when Beckett and I were talking about how best to serve you this summer, we landed on the idea of helping you gals with inexpensive meal ideas that are healthful and yummy, but also budget-friendly and pretty. But there’s a catch — I am not that super-mom type of a cook. I’m your average, everyday girl who can follow a recipe and have it turn out… but let’s be honest, I’d rather have takeout.
The images of the meal plan and the grocery list are printable, so save them to your phone or computer to print off and so you can make your meals or get your groceries easier (if you still actually go to the grocery store in 2018 — hello Walmart pickup).

Recipes & Descriptions:

Monday:

  • Lunch: Use a panini press or make the sandwiches and then heat them over the stove on a skillet. Put meat, cheese, and sautéed onion and garlic in the bread. Butter the outside of the bread before “grilling” it.
  • Fruit salad: Wash & chop 3 apples, all grapes, & most of the melon. Eat a portion of this and save the rest.
  • Supper: Follow this recipe from Gimmie Delicious (with rice, chicken and broccoli) OR do what I did and loosely follow this recipe by Chelsea’s Messy Apron & throw broccoli, frozen chicken breast, potatoes, onions into a pan lined with tin foil. Top with a mixture of oil, garlic, and lemon juice. Then wrap it up together and bake in the oven at 375 degrees F until the chicken is fully cooked. Check the chicken with a meat thermometer to ensure that it’s done.

Tuesday

  • Lunch: Grilled cheese… you know what to do! Cut chunks off of the block of cheese and put it inside the bread, along with some garlic or onions to taste. Then fry in the frying pan or press with a panini press. Heat soup and serve.
  • Supper: Follow directions to heat burgers, top with avocado, sliced tomato, and onions. Use your favorite condiments to spice things up.
  • Make homemade potato fries by following this recipe from Veganosity. I’m skipping the spices, but feel free to add that back in if you want!

Wednesday:

  • Lunch: Make this easy corn and bean salad from KitchMe. Eat them with cucumber and butter sandwiches and perhaps a little fruit salad if you are so inclined.
  • While prepping for lunch, start a crockpot with a few chicken breasts in it so it will be done by suppertime. You will use this chicken for the stuffed peppers tonight, the taco salad tomorrow night, and the chicken salad on Friday.
  • Supper: Make stuffed bell peppers with this tasty recipe from Kalyn’s Kitchen, but sub out the sausage for chicken. Prepare the chicken first in a crockpot, then chop it up and add it in. Pair it with a salad.

Thursday:

  • Lunch: Try this egg bake recipe from Kitchn. I’m going to skip the carrots, but if you have some on hand and want to try it, let me know how it tasted!
  • Supper: taco salad with chips, salsa, taco spiced chicken, sour cream, and diced onions.

Friday:

  • Lunch: Use the remaining chicken you made in the crockpot Wednesday for a salad, complete with walnuts, mandarin oranges, and cheese. top with your favorite dressing.
  • Supper: Homemade pizza topped with sauce, cheese, eggs, spinach, and onions. Try this recipe from AllRecipes.com for the crust, or do what I like to do and buy a ready-made crust in a tube at the grocery store!

Saturday:

  • Lunch: pb&j picnic with apple slices for a quick meal while on the go.
  • Supper: Home made “Chicken Littles” like the ones you used to get from KFC! Make the chicken strips according to the directions on the package, then make a sandwich with burger buns, the chicken strips, pickles, mayonnaise, and I like to add an optional slice of tomato, and lettuce for flavor.

Sunday:

  • Lunch: Make blueberry muffins from the mix and reheat the egg bake leftovers from Thursday.
  • Supper: Homemade mac’n cheese with broccoli. Use my special recipe below:
    • cook a box of noodles (you can have leftovers for a lunch next week if it’s too much for your fam).
    • while still on the heat, add a cup of shredded mozzarella, a 1/4th cup of parmesan, 2 cups frozen broccoli, a table spoon of garlic, a 1/2 to 1 cup of milk, and 1/2 stick of butter. Stir over heat until the broccoli is sufficiently heated and cheese is melted. I also sometimes only do a half cup of mozzarella and also add a 1/2 cup of velveeta.

White blouse: Romwe in a size mediumIMG_9992cutie wolfieIMG_9989IMG_9983

Wolfie was eating a cookie and couldn’t be bothered to look up 🙂

Guys, I have to show you this blouse from Romwe! I wore it last week and I just think every girl needs a pretty white blouse! Plus, you know I love a good deal so it is fitting that this top is only $15! There are also other discounts happening on their site like 90% off some items and money back if you spend $49+.

My bag is vintage, similar here from Versatile Collective. It has a sku and the seller says it’s in very good condition. $577 – also read details and decide on your own if you think it’s a good, authentic buy.
My coat is from Via Spiga. Beckett got it for me a few Christmases ago and I still plan to wear it well into the future. The same brand has a slight variation on the coat again this year and I think it looks adorable. It’s also a little less puffy looking than mine, which may be appealing if you don’t like looking like a giant furball.

In other news, has anyone else been fighting off icky sicknesses this past week? These pictures have been a long time coming because I’ve barely gotten myself out of bed and to work this past week and this week. The only reason I’m able to do this post right now is because I randomly woke up at 3:30AM from a bad dream and then I was too sad/scared to fall asleep again right away.

Does anyone else have nightmares regularly? I do. And sometimes they’re so real feeling when I wake up that I can’t sleep again or I am angry at people in my life who were in the nightmare. It’s really weird. For instance, the whole week before Beckett and I got married, I dreamt that my mom purposefully stole the spotlight at my wedding. Needless to say I didn’t feel happy about how I was being treated in my nightmare, but I tried to hide my feelings from my mom because I knew the thoughts were irrational. Funny how that works.

Then last week Beckett and I both had really similar nightmares. I typed it all out in details for you to read, but then deleted it because I felt like I was sharing more than I wanted to with strangers.

Why did we both have similar nightmares? Sometimes I see that my dreams are linked to a show we’re watching or a book I’m reading, but that wasn’t the case this time. So I feel like we ate something weird and that’s why we both had similar scary dreams, but maybe it’s actually God’s way of telling us something.

Do you think dreams mean something?

Kellie
