this picture is basically the definition of RBF. lol Sorry people, I really like you!
Brief Life Update
Hello friends! It has been so long since I last posted that I considered closing the blogging chapter of my life, but I really enjoy creating posts for you so I decided to continue. I wish I could detail all of the life events that have kept me from blogging lately, but I don’t want to get into things on here… yet.
too artsy not to share
I’ve shared a little about my job issues on my Instagram stories, but a few other life events have been holding me back too. The short of it is that my work as a kitchen designer was taking over my life and God put an opportunity into my lap to leave that job and take another. So now I have more time for my little family and can be there more when my son and husband need me.
silly face, but i had to share because wolfie is so eager to get involved in the photography progress.
Wolfie wants to be (is) the photographer’s (errr…..daddy’s) assistant so the thing in the bottom left of the photo above is his greasy little finger on my camera lens. Haha!
He took this picture too:
[As a side note, Wolfgang is totally nuts lately because he’s constantly trying to fix things, put things together, and “help” with everything! My favorites are when he tries to throw things away (even if they aren’t supposed to be thrown away) or when he randomly starts the dishwasher and then runs away giggling because he knows he’s not supposed to do that. ]
Shein sent me this studded jacket (literally under $25) and I am so happy with it!! I like to keep a few edgy pieces in my fall closet rotation. This is the perfect weight of jacket for most days too. Except yesterday, which was downright cold. And snowy.
How to Find Your Personal Style
I have a question for you to think about. It’s something I had to really consider as I thought about starting my blog a few years back. Your personal style may not be something you regularly think about, but by creating your own “fashion statement” by writing down your personal style goals you can save time and money in the long run.
Questions to ask yourself:
What is your sense of style? What type of clothing do you feel most comfortable in? What types of clothing do you feel most “you” in? Dresses, t-shirts, jeans, skirts?
2. Is your fashion sense classic? Trendy? Bohemian/artsy? Scandinavian?
3. Create a mood board IRL or on Pinterest of all the outfits that inspire you. Don’t think too hard about why you like or dislike something. Just make a note of what you love. You could do this by picking your most favorite things out of your closet too.
4. Then look at those images or items and see if you can find a pattern. Do you like brown sweaters? Colorful blouses? Dainty details?
5. Take a few minutes to boil down your fashion sense into a statement about what you love to wear.
6. Then next time you’re shopping try to find pieces with the features you noticed when you looked at your inspiration images/items. If you shop for things you love and will wear you won’t end up with as many useless items in your wardrobe. It will save you $$ and keep you lookin’ fancy every day. Xx
My example fashion statement:
My fashion sense has changed over the years, but I think I can boil it all down to being basically classic, but with twists, depending on my mood and what I’m doing.
If you look in my closet I have more white button down shirts than any other thing in there and I wear them all the time under my sweaters. But then I always like to add something a little special like chandelier earrings, a bow around my neck, or an interesting brooch. I like things to be classic, but to still show off my creative side a little.
This outfit looks a little edgy, but at it’s basic core it’s still my same old uniform: a cashmere sweater, scarf, and blue jeans. The studded jacket and over the knee riding boots add good measure and good fun.
Before I go I wanted to also tell you about my jeggings because I get questions about them a lot while i’m out and about. So I wanted to share a little bit about why I love them…. 1) they are under forty dollars, 2) one pair will last me about 3 years of wearing them a few times per week, 3) they sit higher on my hips so I don’t have to constantly pull them up and 4) the stretch is super forgiving so even as my weight fluctuates each month they still fit like a dream.
What is your favorite brand of jeans? And do you like the jacket? Comment below!

A week ago I went over to Seva beauty to experience their services and they were absolutely fantastic! I have to admit I didn’t know what I was walking into when I first arrived at the location and got confused because it was a Walmart, but I was thrilled by what I found.
When you first walk in it looks a lot like a hair salon and I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it was inviting, pristine, and cutely decorated.
One of the first things I noticed was that they have their own line of makeup and skincare– they are packaged nicely, smell and feel fresh, and come at really good prices!
I finally wore the lipstick today and loved it! I would compare it to most drugstore lipsticks in its consistency, wear time, and hydration level.
While I was being welcomed in by Shanty (the manager/owner of this Seva Beauty boutique) a random lady was coming out of a facial session in the room pictured above. She looked refreshed, happy, and when asked how it was she gave Seva glowing praises about how relaxing her facial had been.
Honestly, I don’t know her, but I assume she’s in her early fifties and her skin looked sooo good that I didn’t notice any wrinkles even though I was maybe kinda sorta looking :P.
Their flash facials only cost $17 too, which is really amazing! Their deluxe facials start at $45,which is still amazing!
I didn’t try a facial that night because I was set on exploring the world of perfectly sculpted brows, tinted eyelashes, and lash extensions, but believe me– I’m going back for one soon!
Pictured above: Shanty, yours truly, and Tiffany. Shanty’s daughter and husband were there for awhile too and were so friendly and sweet. I love that this is a family friendly and open place.
Thank you, girls for being so nice to me and for posing for this picture!
#Flawless Threading: $9
I’m a sporadic and unreliable plucker so as you can see below… this was much needed! My eyebrows were going on three months of being left to their own devices when I arrived. They didn’t look the worst but they didn’t look fresh by any means! See…
So that was the first thing we took care of.
This was my first threading experience so i didn’t know what to expect, but I had heard it hurts a bit.
It ended up not being too bad, but there was some slight discomfort and pulling. I liked that it was a much faster and more reliable process than plucking and to me the “pain” was at the same level as plucking. So it really wasn’t bad. There was some redness, but it went away quickly . My brows looked soooo amazing after!!! I kinda didn’t realize what I was missing.
Tiffany shaped them really nicely too. It’s the perfect arch! I feel like my face looks much more perky and friendly in the after photo!
Lash Extensions: $17
After I had my lashes tinted I decided it would be fun to try lash extensions. These extensions aren’t mink like some of them, but doing this saved me so much time in my makeup routine every day. Not that I wear false lashes each day, but I would if I had time since they frame the eyes nicely.
I liked wearing these because I didn’t feel like I NEEDED makeup to dash out the door to work in the AM. However, I wish I had Tiffany use the shorter lashes so they filled in my lashes instead of extending them. I have long lashes already so I had to have the extra long kind in order to go longer and it ended up being a little too long and false for my taste. Tiffany had alluded to the idea that they might be a little long, but sometimes I just like to try fun things so I went long anyway 🙂
If you’re in the area I truly recommend Seva Beauty, Blaine!!!! Especially for the brow shaping/threading because that’s something I think a lot of us overlook, but it makes such a big difference in how others subconsciously read our faces. If your brows are droopy and wild you might be looking more unkept than you realize, but when you get your brows shaped it is almost like a facelift. It suddenly brightens your whole face and makes you look well-groomed.
Seva Beauty’s address:
4369 Ball Road NE
In all fairness and openness, Seva asked me to go and experience their treatments on them so I could write about it on here, but that doesn’t mean I have to say nice things, but I definitely loved going there and recommend their beauty treatments. I felt so welcomed and loved everything they did.
Shanty & Tiffany, I’ll be seeing you soon!
This day pictured was one of those rare Sunday’s off last month so we turned it into a whole family outing and went to Barnes & Noble and our favorite confectionary– Nadia Cakes!
On another note: we are so thankful to be this little boy’s parents– he is tons of fun and so happy!
Coat: Romwe | Skirt: Ann Taylor, similar style from ASOS… really classic! | Boots: Delicious at Walmart.com | Blouse: similar, relaxed fit white button down | bag: Tradsey, similar from TheRealReal that looks pretty good and is about $300
Hello lovely gals!
Today I wanted to share this cozy and interesting Romwe jacket because it’s cooling off around here and you’re going to need this shepra coat soon!
I also wanted to show you these over the knee boots from Walmart.com because they are amazing. I bought them last month and adore them! The color I’m wearing is Cognac, which is unfortunately sold out at this time, but most sizes in Smoky Taupe (another awesome color) are still available!
Everything else in this outfit is pieced together from old things I have and constantly repeat. I think you’ll love the similar items I’ve linked too.
You may have noticed that I haven’t posted a lot lately and you might be wondering why. The answer is really complicated, but the short of it is that work has been really demanding and there’s been a lot of change and uncertainty in my life. So family comes first.
I want to thank you readers and brands I am working with at this time for your patience and understanding. You guys really are lovely.
This post is brought to you in partnership with Romwe. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
