How soon is too soon?

Team Thanksgiving or Team Christmas?

I’m sure you’ve noticed that you can find an article to confirm anything you want on the internet: aliens are real, chocolate is good for you, coffee is bad for you or really good for you… it’s all there. And now research shows people who decorate for Christmas early (before thanksgiving) are happier. Yes, folks, it’s all there, written by an expert! What do you think of all of this? Tell us below!

Wellesley and I got a few things out today, but nothing spectacular. I’m not sure how in-depth our decor will be this year. Last year we put out every decoration we had right after Halloween and I was sick of all of the clutter before Christmas Eve! I almost felt guilty being so excited to put it all away because I knew the kids & Beckett were loving it all still.

The Christmas Painting:

The Christmas print is one I painted of a car and a Christmas tree a few years ago. I love it because it has silver accents and it’s perfect classic addition to your Christmas decor!

You can shop this super affordable work of art with this link or by clicking on the shopping bag at the top of this website and scrolling down to it.

The Plaid Boyfriend Shirt:

My patch tartan boyfriend shirt (search #: 603411) is from Shein, you guessed it, Shein! I’m wearing a size medium. It’s sleeves are a little on the short side for me so I tend to roll them up, but I’m pretty tall (5’10”) so I think they should fit most people in length.

If you are looking for any holiday clothes or just an update to your closet, Shein has great options at AMAZING price points. Example, this top was $15! Plus my 15% off code: Q4TheClassy15 makes shopping even better! Valid through Dec 31st 2019!

So how soon is too soon to decorate for Christmas? I think we are all big girls and can make that decision for ourselves, but I have to say, a little reminder that Jesus came & holiday cheer never hurt anyone!

Wolfie:

Also, a special thank you to those of you who have been praying for Wolfie. I’ve heard from a few of you and we appreciate your continued prayers as we continue to monitor and make sure he’s ok! We are a lot more confident right now that he is fine, but it’s still one of those things in the back of our minds. Your prayers mean the world to us.

Speaking of Wolfie: spider-man (aka Beckett) came for a visit and Wolfie was so excited! The boys have been watching the 60s original spider-man cartoons lately and wolfie is obsessed!

Beckett had this spider-man suit custom made back when he was in college & we were dating. Not entirely sure why, but I think it has something to do with him buying an auction of over 10,000 comic books on eBay because it was “a good deal.” 😅😅😅😅 He would wear the suit while trying to sell the comics by the curb once school got out! 😆 #welaughnow Somehow he actually sold most of them, but we still have a half a dozen boxes that follow us like a puppy wherever we go. ðŸĪŠ

If you or someone you know likes comics, please email TheClassyArtist@gmail.com and I’ll give you a deal! Just don’t tell Beckett ðŸĪĢ

Xo,

Kellie

Honey, if you’re reading this, I’m kidding about selling your comics. Or am I?

Mixed prints for spring

Top of the day to you! 😁

Today I wanted to share my favorite spring outfit that takes me through these crazy fluctuations in Minnesota weather! Next I have been dying to tell anyone who will listen about our double stroller because we’ve had it a few months now and still absolutely love it! Finally, I wanted to give a bit of a life update to tell you a few things you didn’t know about us lately.

First, my long leopard cardigan sweater and buffalo check tee are both from Shein. The buffalo check top is literally under $6 now and it’s probably my most worn top and I highly recommend it. I think mine is a size medium. They were gifted to me by the company awhile back and I still wear them all the time! I think the top is a few years old now! The denim shorts are from the Universal Thread line at Target and they work so well for me and my after baby body. I feel like they are long enough and fit the right way to hide some of my baby weight, yuh know?

Our stroller is the Joovy Caboose Too Ultralight and it is the best inexpensive double stroller ever! It’s sturdy, relatively light, folds up well, and has a cup holder! Plus, one of the biggest things about it for me was that it can hold a lot of weight so I don’t have to buy a new stroller as the kids get bigger. Oh, and the wheels work SUPER WELL, which was not our experience with our more expensive single stroller!

In other news, have you heard about our new business venture over here?! It’s an art subscription box called Classy Artist Box! Each month we send out supplies and access to a video lesson on our new site! This was our first month and I feel such a frenzy of nervously working out a few last minute kinks. BUT it’s so exciting to be able to do what I love and pass that joy to people around the country!

Today is an exciting day for us because in a little while we are launching our little kids boxes with options for preschoolers and elementary age kids! More on that soon, but for now here’s a link to our shop!

I love the kids boxes because it’s such a great way to spend time with your little ones in a way that you both can enjoy. Plus I’ve done all the shopping and creativity for you so you don’t have to come up with it all on your own!

Now I’m gonna go and start making the kids examples for our June boxes!! We are starting with fish related projects and I’m so excited to make them with Wolfie (who turns 3 this week)!!!!

Kellie

snakeskin blazer & pushing forward in stress

About this Blazer:

Can you tell I’m a fan of snakeskin?! Yes, it’s trending right now, but I have to say I love it no matter what! I never met an animal print I didn’t like as long as it’s done in a classic way! and what is more classic than this $22 blazer?! (ps. if you can’t find the blazer with my link, use search ID 628289).

Use code SH4131 for %15 off, no limitation, valid until march 31st, 2019!

Shein has one of the best selections of animal print that I’ve ever seen and this blazer is just one of the many items I own and love of theirs! Yes, I agree that if you’re looking for classic pieces on their site, sometimes you have to wade through a slew of neon, barely-there “party dresses,” but I’ll tell you it’s worth it!

My favorite way to search is from their homepage and go to the dropdown titled “CLOTHING” and “Blouses.” Then select from the “elegant” or “preppy” categories, though the casual section hosts many great options as well.

I also like to browse their “casual,” “maxi,” and “elegant” dresses because they have great options for everything from hot summer days to fancy weddings.

Speaking of animal prints, my Leopard Print *actual art print* is just $20 over on my shop!

Life lately:

Have you missed me? Yes, I’ve been a bit MIA, but it’s because I’m constantly working on a secret project. So far, I will say that it’s honestly the biggest, most difficult, most rewarding thing I’ve ever done in my entire life — other than motherhood. In my mind, I keep comparing the work I’m putting into it on the time and effort I spent on my Master’s degree, which scares me a little because that stress reminds me of grief.

If you knew me back when I lived in Sweden or afterward, you would know how important Sven was to me. He was an orange rag doll who behaved more like a dog than a cat, and I cared for him like a child. So when he suddenly passed away one Friday morning — in the midst of all of the work, writing, teaching, and research — I grieved very hard.

So now when I have times of intense stress, sometimes my mind reacts by feeling like it should go into grief or survival mode. Instead of focusing on the next steps I need to take, sometimes I start worrying about the what ifs and the future. I’m no psychologist, but I know that’s unhealthy and unbiblical. God’s Word tells us to not worry about anything… to not worry about things because God loves us even more than we imagine and He’s like a Father who wants us to run to Him so He can protect and teach us.

It’s a conscious decision for me to focus on my tasks at hand instead of worry, but I know it’s the right decision.

What makes you worry? How do you actively work to combat those negative thoughts and press on toward your goal?

Xo,

Kellie
